HPPSC announce SET for Assistant Professor 2023:- The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission announces the State Eligibility Test (SET) to be held in order to determine eligibility for recruitment to the post(s) of Assistant Professor(s) in Universities and Colleges located in Himachal Pradesh in the Himachal Pradesh State for 24 individuals will take the test, as listed. Below, at several testing locations in Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Kangra at Dharamshala, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Nahan, Una, Kullu and Chamba subject to number of candidates. Education:-

Candidates who have earned a Master’s degree in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications from universities or institutions recognized by the UGC with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 55% (without rounding off) are eligible to take this test. Candidates in the Other Backward Classes (Non-Cream Layer of H.P.), Scheduled Caste (SC) of H.P., Scheduled Tribe (ST) of H.P., and Persons with Disability (PWD) of H.P. categories who received at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s degree are qualified for this test.

You may also apply for this test if you are currently enrolled in a Master’s program or an equivalent course, if you took your qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination but have not yet received your results, or if your qualifying examinations have been postponed. But only after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (or 50% marks in the case of SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and PWD (Persons with Disability) category candidates of H.P.) will they be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the Universities/Colleges located in the State. Such candidates must pass their P.G. Degree examination with the required proportion of marks within two years of the date of the SET result, failing otherwise they shall be treated as disqualified.

The HPPSC SET-2023 will only be offered in offline mode and will be administered in the topics listed below at various testing locations throughout the State at the times that will be announced subsequently.

Condition of Eligibilily:-

General / Unreserved / General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC) of H.P. /Scheduled Tribe (ST) of H.P. /Other Backward Classes (Non- creamy layer of H.P./ and Persons with Disability (PWD) of H.P. category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks
(without rounding off) in Master’s Degree are eligible for this test.
ii) Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the Universities/Colleges situated in the State, only after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (Non- creamy layer and PWD (Persons with disability) category candidates of H.P.) Such candidates must complete their P.G. Degree examination within two years
from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
iii) The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
